Lab Technologist, Capacitor Film Metrology

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE:

Assist our world class engineering and nanolayered capacitor film metrology team bring a new product to market! The position is a full time, first shift opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Capacitor Film Development. A successful candidate will work closely with the development and production teams in the dielectrics metrology lab by documenting procedures, completing relevant training, conducting experiments, and executing production procedures.

Job duties include:

Characterization testing set-up, execution, and data recording to qualify development and production samples of plastic capacitor film (dielectrics). Includes comprehensive testing of plastic film physical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties of in-house manufactured Peak Nano film products.

Reporting the planned schedule of experiments to the dielectrics metrology team and escalating awareness of issues or delays to the appropriate division. Documenting procedures including the flow of material samples and disposition of test elements and results.

Evaluating electrical properties of plastic capacitor films using commercial dielectric metrology equipment (e.g., LCR meters, voltmeters, custom built electric circuits, high voltage testers, etc.).

Gauging of physical characteristics of capacitor film including thickness, surface roughness, static, optical defect inspection, and qualification of film roll samples.

Documenting all test results and interacting with data management systems for upload, storage, and analysis of capacitor film data. Provide feedback on data management system structure and user interactions.

This is a progressive role that will begin with basic testing of physical film properties and as experience and capability grow, will advance to more sophisticated electrical, and thermal testing. The position offers the opportunity to learn advanced imaging and chemical analysis characterization techniques.
