Description

We are seeking a summer 2024 intern test engineer with a good cultural fit to lead buildout of test development and automation for characterization of polymer capacitor film and capacitor devices. The candidate would play an essential role in bringing nanolayered polymer capacitor films to market by supporting metrology efforts designed to understand, forecast, and facilitate transition from film level to device level dielectric and thermal performance. Key responsibilities include automating existing film dielectric testing methods and developing new metrology to evaluate capacitor voltage and temperature handling to predict device longevity and lifetime. The ideal candidate has experience in high voltage and/or high temperature measurement of electrical properties of polymer film and film capacitors and is eager to build something new. This is full time onsite position at Peak Nano’s Valley View Ohio facility.

Required Qualifications

  • On track for BS in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or equivalent

  • Experience with electrical test equipment

  • Familiarity with test automation tools (such as Labview, Teststand, etc.)

  • Basic testing hardware troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of physical measurement methods

  • Data management experience via a DB (MySQL, SQL, Postgres, etc)

  • CAD experience (Solidworks or similar)

  • Scripting experience (ex. Python)

  • Materials science experience related to polymers and thin films

  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with metallized film capacitor fabrication
