Extrusion Technician

LOCATION: Cleveland, OH

  • Support film extrusion equipment operation and set-up.

  • Troubleshooting.

  • Providing recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve equipment and/or process problems in a timely manner.

  • Application of sound principles to drive improvements in tooling, production, processing, and equipment in a continuous and timely manner.

  • Ensure machines are functional and safe to operate.

  • Report safety problems immediately and operate equipment safely.

  • Write and revise SOPs.

  • Support or own work orders, deviations, and audit observations for equipment activities.

  • Maintain quality on parts being produced and report any quality problems.

  • Perform 5S activities.

  • Perform all material handling functions (raw materials and finished goods).

  • Control flow of materials using standardized work.

  • Avoid passing defects to next process.

  • Report daily line problems and countermeasures.

  • Meet daily production levels.

  • Determine correct shipping and receiving requirements.


  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new skills, concepts, and applications.

  • Flexible and capable of adapting to change.

  • High School/GED – Technical Certificate or higher preferred

  • Ability to handle up to fifty (50) pounds with physical dexterity to assemble and operate test equipment.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, plastics processing experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain charts, graphs, and production reports.

  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements and to gauge parts if needed.

  • Ability to understand production goals and associated documentation.

  • Ability to ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and practices and all local, state, federal and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
