Description
Peak Nano Films is seeking a Sr Product Development Leader to drive technical development and commercialization of nanolayered capacitor films. This position will work closely with the VP of Product Development, Capacitor Films, to execute daily operations that align with Peak Nano’s strategic vision of becoming America’s preeminent manufacturer of high-performance capacitor films. Key responsibilities include chartering, leading, and executing development projects to support electrical and thermal performance optimization of nanolayered capacitor films and devices, analyzing data to identify structure/function relationships that aid in nanoarchitectural design of capacitor film structures, writing proposals to secure government funding, and interfacing with external capacitor manufacturers on device prototyping and qualification projects. An additional responsibility is to serve as a subject matter expert with regard to capacitor uses and applications. Preference will be given to candidates that have previous leadership experience, as the position will require oversight of interactions across multiple engineering teams including film/device metrology, film extrusion, and data management teams. Required Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent

5+ years of experience in technology development

Understanding of capacitor performance metrics and experience with electrical characterization of capacitor films and/or capacitor devices

Prior leadership experience and proven ability to work with multiple development teams

Experience in design, management, and execution of development projects, including completing associated documentation such as charter writing, data reporting, and knowledge capture

US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent

Proven track record in writing grant proposals, securing government funding, and executing on funded programs

Previous experience supporting a manufacturing environment

Materials science experience related to polymers and thin films

Demonstrated knowledge of the roles and functions of capacitors in a variety of electrical applications, including, but not limited to: electric vehicles and EV charging, electric grid, pulse power, renewable energy harvesting, and fusion

Demonstration of advanced analytical and statistical analysis skills

Basic understanding of film extrusion processes

Ability to design electrical circuits to quantify capacitor performance, including high voltage breakdown, leakage current, and lifetime/accelerated aging
