The Manufacturing Supervisor for 3rd Shift will be an integral member in the scale-up to a 24-hour, 5-day manufacturing facility. They are responsible for leading and coordinating all third-shift operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees daily activities for the cast film manufacturing process, including extrusion, slitting, and metrology, while assigning tasks and ensuring appropriate staffing across production areas. The supervisor monitors and communicates key performance indicators related to production, quality, and safety, manages warehouse inventory to maintain accurate raw material and finished-goods levels, and audits work order documentation to ensure accuracy while initiating corrective actions when needed. Responsibilities also include validating film quality using laboratory testing equipment and supporting troubleshooting efforts with technicians and engineering teams to maintain optimal equipment and process performance. In addition, the supervisor plays a key role in workforce development and operational readiness by managing training for third-shift personnel, maintaining the training matrix, and facilitating cross-training to support team flexibility. The position requires strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) standards, promoting safe work habits and ensuring compliance across all manufacturing and testing equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma/GED or 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role with 1-2 years’ experience in an off-shift leadership role
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; Oracle NetSuite preferred
  • Excellent verbal and good written communication skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs when necessary; remain standing/walking for extended periods of time
  • Experience in safe tow motor equipment operation and material handling best practices
  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or other post-secondary education
  • Plastics processing equipment experience, such as extrusion, cast or blown film, calendaring, injection molding, etc.
  • Laboratory test equipment experience, such as drop gauge, In-line thickness measurement systems, etc
  • Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
