Peak Nano & E&P Technologies Partnership
Engineered to Scale, Qualified for Deployment
As fusion scales toward repetitive operation, reliable pulsed power becomes mission-critical. Capacitors sit at the center of that challenge.
Peak Nano and E&P Technologies have built a new model for pulsed power innovation, pairing advanced dielectric materials with precision manufacturing.
E&P’s next-generation high-energy-density capacitors, powered by Peak Nano’s NanoPlex™ HDC dielectric film platform, accelerate development and strengthen the domestic industrial base for high-performance energy systems.
Peak Technology Center
The Peak Technology Center is where all NanoPlex™ intellectual property is developed, prototyped, and validated. We turn nanolayer film concepts into production-ready films on timelines that traditional polymer development can’t match.
The NanoPlex Advantage
Traditional film engineering forces you into trade-offs:
-
-
Single-polymer films: Stuck with one material's limitations.
-
Polymer blends: Materials compete instead of complement.
-
Multi-layer films: Tie-layers pile on cost, complexity, and thickness, and are capped at a handful of discrete layers.
-
NanoPlex™ nanolayer coextrusion removes these constraints entirely. We combine two or more existing polymers into hundreds or even thousands of precisely controlled layers, each as thin as 30 nanometers. The layer architecture, including order, thickness ratio, and composition, is fully customizable.
The result: Dielectric strength, thermal stability, mechanical toughness, barrier performance, and optical properties can all be fine-tuned layer by layer using proven commercial polymers already qualified and available today. No new base materials to develop, no multi-year waiting game, no nine-figure R&D programs.
Three Integrated Disciplines
We operate across three core areas to compress development timelines and eliminate the handoffs that slow traditional film programs.
Polymer Analysis & Development Tools
AI-enabled formulation tools built on decades of nanolayered materials research and science. Spectroscopy and analysis characterize film composition, molecular structure, and material properties at the nanoscale. Formulation decisions are data-driven from the start.
Formulation, Prototyping & Manufacturing
Five dedicated extrusion lines produce nanolayered films with up to 4,000+ layers in thicknesses from 2.5 to 400 microns, at temperatures up to 325°C. Lines are configured for rapid iteration, with fast transitions between formulations, layer counts, and material combinations.
Capacitor Reference Design
In-house capacitor prototyping and testing take NanoPlex film directly from production to prototype hardware. We build reference designs, run lifetime testing under real operating conditions, and deliver the engineering guidance your team needs to adapt NanoPlex capacitor film into high-temperature and high-energy-density capacitor devices.
Rapid Film Spectrum Prototyping
From First Article to Production Quantities
Our expertise in biaxial orientation is purpose-built for rapid nanolayer film development. In combination with our vertically integrated co-extrusion film capabilities, we can manage biaxial development projects from early-stage R&D and material screening through prototype runs to production quantities of 100 lbs+, all on a single, reconfigurable platform.
