R&D Extrusion Technician
Description
Peak Nano is looking for an extrusion technician to work in our R&D group. The key responsibilities of the job are as follows:

Support film extrusion equipment set-up and operation

Troubleshooting
-
Providing recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve equipment and/or process problems in a timely manner
-
Help develop processing parameters for multilayer films
-
Ensure machines are functional and safe to operate
-
Report safety problems immediately and operate equipment safely
-
Write and revise SOPs
-
Perform 5S activities
-
Perform all material handling functions (raw materials and finished goods)
Required Qualifications
-
Education: High school diploma/GED or 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing
-
Safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs when necessary; remain standing/walking for extended periods of time
-
1+ years of experience in plastics processing
-
Ability to ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and practices, and all local, state, federal, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
-
Ability to maintain charts, graphs, and production reports
-
Excellent verbal and good written communication skills (Microsoft Office)

Ability to perform basic math and measurements, and to gauge parts if needed
-
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills

US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
-
Education: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or other post-secondary education
-
3+ years of experience in plastics processing
-
Flexible and capable of adapting to change
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
