Description

Assist our world class engineering and nanolayered capacitor film development team bring new products to market! The position is a full time, first shift opportunity reporting directly to the VP of Capacitor Development. A successful candidate will work closely with the capacitor engineering team to slit and process Peak’s NanoPlex capacitor film into precision-width rolls for customer and sales and used in capacitor fabrication. The position focuses on operating and maintaining film slitting equipment, executing planned slitting schedules, and handling film rolls throughout the slitting process. The role requires some degree of physical strength, including lifting and maneuvering film rolls and performing rewind shaft changeovers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Establishing and following materials logging, storage, and handling procedures.

  • Executing planned schedules for film slitting, logging completed work orders, and escalating awareness of issues or delays to the appropriate leader.

  • Operating and maintaining film slitting equipment, including performing preventative maintenance on mechanical components, executing rewind shaft changeovers, and setting up slitting equipment between production runs.

  • Lifting, positioning, and maneuvering capacitor film rolls onto and off slitting equipment.

  • Documenting slitting procedures and inspecting slit film for dimensional accuracy and quality.

  • Cross-training on capacitor winding, end spray, and capacitor testing equipment to assist in building and evaluating capacitors made with Peak NanoPlex film

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in a production or quality control environment

  • Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds; requirement may be repeated many times throughout a shift

  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail for materials logging and testing

  • Strong computer skills including data entry and cloud computing fluency

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Prior experience handling thin plastic films is desired

  • US Citizenship
